Apple Watch Faces FAQ & Help

Frequently asked questions about installing Apple Watch faces, complication setup, battery life, HealthKit sync, and Space Pro.

How do I install a watch face on my Apple Watch? [Setup & Compatibility]
Open the Space app on your iPhone, select your preferred watch face design, and tap "Add to My Watch". The watch face will open directly in the official Apple Watch app on iOS. From there, tap "Add to Current Faces" and it will immediately appear on your wrist.
Which Apple Watch models and watchOS versions are supported? [Setup & Compatibility]
Space watch faces and WidgetKit complications support Apple Watch Series 4 through Series 10, Apple Watch SE (1st & 2nd gen), and all Apple Watch Ultra models. For the best experience, we recommend running watchOS 10 or watchOS 11 (and watchOS 27).
Do I need the companion watchOS app installed on my Apple Watch? [Setup & Compatibility]
For static face designs, the iPhone app is sufficient. However, for live telemetry complications (step counters, heart rate zones, moon phases, weather) and mini-games like Pocket Pals, the companion watchOS app must be installed on your watch.
Why do weather, steps, or heart rate complications not update instantly every second? [Complications & Data]
Apple enforces background refresh budget quotas on third-party WidgetKit complications to preserve battery life (typically updating every 15–45 minutes in background). Whenever you raise your wrist or tap the complication, fresh live data updates instantly.
Why is my complication displaying dashes ("--") instead of metrics? [Complications & Data]
Dashes appear when system privacy permissions are missing. On your iPhone, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Health > Space and allow all metrics. For weather, set Location Access to While Using the App.
Can I swap or customize complication slots on a Space face? [Complications & Data]
Yes! Once added to your watch, long-press the watch screen, tap "Edit", and swipe to Complications. You can freely mix Space complications with built-in Apple widgets or other third-party apps.
How much battery do Space watch faces consume? [Battery & Performance]
Our watch faces are designed for OLED displays with true pure-black backgrounds (#000000) where pixels shut off completely. Native Swift WidgetKit timelines draw less than 2–4% daily battery overhead.
What are the best settings to maximize Apple Watch battery life? [Battery & Performance]
Use dark platter designs, adjust Always-On display settings in Settings > Display & Brightness, and turn off Background App Refresh for unused apps. Read our full Battery Life Guide.
How does the Pocket Pals virtual pet work on Apple Watch? [Pocket Pals & Games]
Pocket Pals links HealthKit activity directly to your virtual pet. Every 4,000 steps grants +1 Happiness and XP, closing rings restores energy, and healthy sleep triggers companion evolution.
Can I play on-wrist mini games (like Bricks) offline without an internet connection? [Pocket Pals & Games]
Yes. All interactive watch face games and arcade companions are 100% self-contained on the watchOS device, playable offline without an iPhone nearby.
What is included in the free version vs. Space Pro? [Subscription & Pro]
The free version gives you access to essential curated watch faces and developer tools. Space Pro unlocks our complete catalog, premium dashboard packs (Modular, Bunker, Blueprint, Vitals), all pet evolutionary branches, and weekly new face drops.
How do I restore my Space Pro subscription on a new iPhone or Apple Watch? [Subscription & Pro]
Your subscription is tied securely to your Apple ID via StoreKit 2. Open the Space app on iPhone, go to Settings, and tap "Restore Purchases" to reactivate Pro immediately.
How can I manage or cancel my subscription? [Subscription & Pro]
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPhone, open Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > Space Watch Faces to change plans or cancel at any time.
